B.L.O.W.W. - July 26, 2009 at Great Scott

B.L.O.W.W. (the Boston League of Women Wrestlers) blew up Great Scott on Sunday with not one, but TWO championship matches.

Umbilical Cord DistasterWho’s Your Daddy? Match
Susie Skrew
vs
Ninja Ho
vs
Skank Williams Jr

Skank Williams Jr showed up to the match pregnant (what? stop it!) with a square baby. To show her what is what, Ninja Ho and Susie Skrew attacked, at which point Skank Williams Jr GAVE BIRTH ON STAGE, and managed to wrap up Ninja Ho and Susie Skrew with the umbilical cord!

Show 'Um ScottTag Team Championship
Champs: Green Line Greta and Dewey Decimate
vs
Muffy Winters and Her Ego

This was one for the ages, especially since the practically invincible Green Line Greta was taken away in an ambulance (hope you’re doing better!). Dewey Decimate ended up with a dunce cap in the corner, while Muffy Winters wrecked some serious havoc.   The ref ended up bloodied and hanging upside off the stage (good sport, he smiled for the smiled for the camera).

Dutchess rides the WrathalieBLOWW Championship Match
Champ: The Wrathalie
vs
Pennsylvania Dutchess

Right off the bat, I had $5 on the Pennsylvania Dutchess in support of pro-home-state pride, however The Wrathalie from down under was a formitable opponent. She geared up with some vegemite (BLAH) and then jumped on into the match. Pennsylvania Dutchess had a good go, but the Wrathalie pulled a toaster oven from her bag and toasted the Dutchess’s hand. Ouch!  There was also a move with an old-school corded phone that I can’t quite remember the details of. In the end the Wrathalie won (and I lost $5), then took on the MC. Take that, cowboy!

CatieDid What?

Catie Did Boston

Catie Did Boston

Why “CatieDid That”?

True story - my aunt used to run a day care center that I went to after school. One day, as we played in the backyard, a very loud, very consistent cicada (aka CatieDid) was doing its thing from one of the trees. Brittney, an adorably curious 3 year old, asked my Aunt “What is that?”

My aunt replied, “A Catie Did”

And, in adorable toddler fashion, Brittney responded “Catie did that?!?? How did Catie DO that?”

I figure I have been surprising people ever since.

What’s this whole “blog” thing about?

Well, this space will be evolving for the first few months so bare with me, but the ultimate goal is to share my experiences with you.

You can see what is coming up on any given night by visiting my twitter account, www.Twitter.com/BostonTonight where I post the great events I hear about in the greater Boston area. I go to as many as I can (marked with an *), and the rest are ones that I would recommend.

After an event is over, I will be updating this site with the sites, sounds and experiences. There is so much that Massachusetts has to offer, so go out and enjoy it!
